Today is my Thursday!

Ok, so I know that today is Wednesday but, since we get off work this Friday, July 4th... Today is my "Thursday" and I am psyched!! :)

I must admit that Fridays are my favorite day of the week!!! I LOVE FRIDAYS!! I love Thursdays too because it is day before FRIDAY! Anywho... I am just excited that my week at work is nearly over and to celebrate that I have been playing games at work all day long..... haha

I am especially excited that my week is nearly through because I will be traveling to Abilene on Friday to see some dear friends! I am not one that has alot of "close" friends... it is much easier for me to make acquaintances and exchange simple pleasantries. The few close friends I do have are more than friends to me.. they feel like family. AP will always feel like a sister to me and Momma C will always be my second mom. Anywho, I am excited to see them again and cant wait to meet the newest members of the family!! :)

Since this blog is here to share my thoughts, I am going to switch gears a bit to get some things out that I have been contemplating... fair warning... this might get deep and kinda sad...

I have decided that I am going to try and make amends with one of my aunts that I have not seen or spoken to in some time. Growing up she was my favorite aunt and my cousins and I always enjoyed going to her house to have good food and fun times! She is the youngest of my mothers siblings... so, she was the fun one. When I was in high school my aunt had met some guy on the Internet in a Nascar chat room of all places... She then met this dude face to face... long story short she ended up moving to Iowa to be with him... They ended up getting married and moving to Oklahoma to be closer to the family... So, needless to say during this time we weren't so close to her as we use to be... "we" as in me and my cousins. Then when I was in high school my mother's mom passed away and the whole family... mom, her 3 sisters, and 1 brother.. who were always soo close... went their own ways... My mom's father ended up marrying some broad that is 2 years older than my mom.. so, the family literally split to shreds... Anywho... My "favorite" aunt was the only sibling who stood by my mothers father when this broad moved in with him and eventually married... so, a war between the sibling... as you can imagine it affected us-the kids. I could write on and on for days about this whole ordeal... (maybe this is one of those things that a shrink is for) hahahah... I have not seen or spoken to my aunt in lets say 5 or 6 years and for some reason.... since, my dad's mom passed away last summer... I have begun to realize how important family is... like them or not... they are your family... its what you got because when they are long gone... you can't get them back. So, this is my first baby step into doing the right thing.... whatever the reasons my aunt did nothing personal to me... she sided with my grandfather (that is her problem... not mine)... One thing my dad's mother told me before she passed... is to remember the good times... Remember all the good times! At the time, I thought she just meant to remember all the good times with her and my dad's father growing up......... My dad's mother hated the fact that my mom's family was fighting and that I chose to include myself in it and distance myself from that part of my extended family..... What she was trying to tell me was to remember to the good times... each and every day... not just with her... but, with everyone... family... friends... the whole nine yards... Not to sit and dwell on... he said, she said... BS.. So, what if my grandfather shacked up with some dirty nasty hell-bitch... (that is his problem... not mine)... Keep in mind..its going to take one giant step for me... to try to make amends with him and her... lol So, I am going to start small... and try to re-connect with my once "favorite" aunt. If I hear nothing back from her it is ok...If I can extend an olive branch at least I will feel like I did my part... instead of always living with this regret... So, I plan to start small and send a card with a little note inside.. and see what happens... She was always a fan of sending cards and lots of chocolate.. so, I am sure this will not offend her in any way. We will see what happens...

So, I felt to unleash this beast in my thoughts... mainly because my mother would probably shit if I told her I was contemplating making amends with my Aunt Michele... Her words would be "What the hell for?".... I love my mother, only because I have learned to put up with her... lol

I better close for now... my job has just paid me to do this bit of therapy.. haha... its worth every penny... NOW on to the GAMES!
