Have you had a good day lately?

It is the 2nd of March and my first official post for 2009!

I really dont have much to say about the fact that I haven't posted since September. As much as I would love to rehash over the last 7 months... it is impossible.

So, what has been going on and running through my mind lately?

"Have you had a Good Day lately?"
One of my morning rituals since I started my job last year is to watch the morning news "Good Day" on FOX Channel 4. I find it really odd because my dad has always had this apart of his morning ritual as well since I can remember as a little kid. Anyways. Its a habit. It doesnt matter whether I wake up at 5am or 6:15am... The first thing I do when I wake up is turn the tv to Channel 4! Good day has had a good crew..

Tim is one of the lead anchors.. he is middle aged, kinda cranky and sarcastic... but soo funny some of the comments he has.

Megan the other lead is probably in her early thirties... She has such a great personality and can really put up with Tim and they both have such great chemistry.... She is just perfect in everyway! Best clothes, makeup, and hair!

There is Evan the weather man, who just reminds me of a girly boy lol.. He has an interesting choice of colors for suits... but, the man is married and has children lol. Tim gives him a hard time always..

Finally, Chip the traffic dude. He is a cute guy and has a great personality as well..

They are always joking around on good day! Anywho.. on Monday of last week Megan announced that she was leaving Good day (after being there 5 years) and her last day was on Friday. I was crushed!! I can't believe it! There was a job opening in Los Angeles for a local morning show there... also her family is there (she is always flying home on the weekends to see her family).. and she explained that this was the hardest decision she has ever made. I never thought a person could get soo attached to a morning news show.. Its not like I watch it from 5:00am to 9:00am or anything. At least I know I am not the only one... there has been an outcry of Good Day viewers!! What is going to happen? Who is going to fill Megan's shoes?? I guess it is not too farfetched to get attached to people that you have woken up everyday for the last 15 months! lol Megan is going to surely be missed...

A MUCH Needed Break!
It seems like I have been on the go alot! From spending the past couple weekends at the parents and a whole week in Dallas... The majority of my average day at work! I know I was excited to see my friends in Abilene this past weekend. But I dont think I realized just how much I needed a break from it all! I also didn't realize it has been just a day or two shy from 3 months since I had been down to visit. It was soo good to spend time with my closest friends, AP and Momma C! I hadn't seen M C since I'd came down to celebrate her Bday/Christmas. She has recovered so well from her accident! I hadn't prepared myself for how good she looked! I am so excited and happy for her! I am hoping all the best! These days AP looks different everytime I see her..I admit I was jealous of her new hair cut! It really looks good on her! Their house is in such a quiet peaceful neighborhood.. it is really a treat from what I have to deal with on a daily basis! lol

One of the main things on the agenda for this weekend was the swap out Twilight Books (give AP back the 2nd book and get the 3rd). Reading the Twilight books is something I am really proud of.. First of all, I have found that I have been having a hard time starting and finishing things.... I felt soo accomplished to have finished the first book... and then on to the 2nd! Wooo hoo! So nice to set out an agenda and see it through to the finish! Secondly, when the hype of Twilight started this past fall.. I really had no desire... all I seen on entertainment news was little girls crying in line waiting for the opening of the movie! I was thinking "Is this for real?.... Its about vampires for crying out loud?!" I tend to get a little judgemental when it comes to "teen hype"... For some reason, I have something against that generation... or age group... whatever Anyways... I felt good to be proven wrong! I really enjoyed reading the first and second (even though there were parts I forced myself through) books! I didnt feel like a giddy little hormonal teenager at all! It was just me taking the story in and gathering information! The books are written very flowly... So, its like you just bounce right through it! I really enjoy sharing ideas on the books with AP... it really gets me to thinking. Right now before I start the 3rd book, I am really in a slump... I have no idea where this story is going to be taking me... I have no idea what to expect!!!! So far I have really enjoyed it and I have AP to thank for it!

Dancing, Singing, Playing.... just simply carefree! This weekend AP and I drove around singing, dancing, and enjoying the Twilight Soundtrack... It is so weird to listen to music for the first time and feel no connection... Then by the end of the weekend all the songs were in my head! lol Felt so nice to be carefree!! Moving and Groovin! We ended up playing Pool at a new game center in Abilene. Even though, I suck all around at pool! It was nice to have some mindless entertainment! One of the things I always look forward to in an Abilene visit is a game of Chicken Foot! We have soo much fun sitting around the table... We never know what crazy thing is going to happen or come out of our mouths! lol Blankies!! Onesies!! Twosies!! Now in the future, if I can just keep up with my score... I will be doing alright! lol

I am so amazed and proud of them both and am so lucky to have such great friends in my life!

I cannot thank them enough for all they do!

Getting it together!
I am proud to say that I bought a tubby from Walmart today during lunch! I will finally be putting away my little mound of christmas decorations that didnt have a home! It's about DAMN TIME! Also, I found a little rack to put in the kitchen so that my little dining table isnt covered with shit that doesnt fit in the cabinets! Yes, I know this seems pathetic to be excited about such as this! The way I see it these little mounds of clutter are slowly taking over my life! I am in control not the clutter!

Getting cutesy back!
Something that has been bothering me the past week is how much I feel like the female version of Dilbert! A computer nerd! Like I am actually starting to look like the part! I know when I was a student I always wanted to be cutesy... cutesy clothes.. cutesy haircut... cutesy shoes.. I did things for me! Like getting pedicures, tanning!, etc. Lately I feel like I am turning in to a old computer nerd maid... nothing feels or looks like cutesy anymore! I don't want to lose that part of me! So, I am striving to find that part of myself again! within reason! I am not going to wear beach clothes to work or anything... but I would like to make some changes! I signed up for tanning last week.. so even if I dont get to spend a day of fun in the sun this summer at least I can try to look like it! lol

I think this will suffice for my first blog of 2009!

Until next time,
~T :)
